Ngapa Jukurrpa Mikanji (meaning Water Dreaming)

Mikanji country is a significant Dreaming site with an often dry creek including mulju or water soakages. One story as depicted by Juliette Nampijinpa Brown tells of two old blind women of the Nampijinpa skin group who sang nearby. Straining their eyes to see the sky, their tears created rain and a huge storm. Their spirits stand today by the creek in the form of two ngapiri or river red gumtrees.
